It was another week of record highs across most North American indices as fears surrounding a rising 10-year Treasury continue to moderate. The 10-year Treasury yield went on a wild ride Thursday, moving lower after strong retail sales and jobless claims data in a counterintuitive move that was a positive for the market. Treasury yields, which move opposite price, had been falling, but they picked up momentum after two early morning economic reports. One was March retail sales, which jumped nearly 10%, and the other was weekly jobless claims, which fell to 576,000 - the lowest level since the early days of the pandemic.
