Market Watch Weekly - June 23, 2010 |
Markets have begun the day fairly flat in anticipation of the US Federal Reserve's monetary policy statement to come later this morning (Pacific Time). Gold and oil have dropped a bit from earlier highs this week but the commodities and energy sectors remain stable. This week began with China announcing that they would allow their currency to rise thus sparking international debate and reaction. We look at this today in the Market Watch Weekly. We also look at gold going forward and why we are still strong investors here. Finally, we leave you with some interesting commentary on Canada as a productive nation. One would think that as Canada shines, relatively speaking, through the recent economic crisis, we are on track but our productivity numbers and outlook say otherwise. We didn't want you to enter summer on too much of a high despite the loonie looking good again for summer travel plans. |
